Maturity Model

A way of describing where an organisation actually is, from experimenting individually, through isolated pilots, to production systems with governance, to AI being a normal part of how work is designed. It is useful mainly for having an honest conversation, since most organisations sit lower than they think.

Technical view

Typical dimensions are strategy and sponsorship, use case portfolio and realised value, data and platform foundations, engineering practice including evaluation and monitoring, governance and risk management, and skills. Progression is uneven across dimensions, and the common failure is advancing use case volume well ahead of evaluation and governance capability, which produces a portfolio of systems nobody can measure or defend.
